WebThe park is located where the Old Fort Townsend Fort was built in 1856 to protect the settlers from the Indians. Much of the fort burned down but it was used in WW2 as an enemy munitions defusing station. We stopped in the Historic Town of Port Townsend before we went to the campground about two miles away.
