WebNov 28, 2016 · Stimulation at a grassland was derived by subtracting ungrazed from grazed ANPP. We examined factors controlling stimulation in two ways. First, we pooled data from the three studies to model stimulation as a function of grazing intensity and site condition, which was indexed with ANPP of ungrazed grassland. WebSoils of grasslands represent a large potential reservoir for storing CO 2, but this potential likely depends on how grasslands are managed for large mammal grazing. Previous studies found both strong positive and negative grazing effects on soil organic carbon (SOC) but explanations for this variation are poorly developed.
